“Kneissl provide me with my telemark and cross country skis, both for training and racing. They produce the highest quality product and look great!” ~ Jasmin Taylor

Jasmin Taylor is a professional telemark skier from the UK. She was the first ever Briton to win a World Championship medal at the sport and is currently the British Champion and World No.4.

On joining the British Ski Academy at 12-years-old, Jaz began competing as an alpine skier… before becoming the youngest Ski Cross Champion Great Britain has ever produced just three years later. After making the England Freestyle Ski Team in 2009, she made the transition to telemark skiing and quickly found her feet as one of the sport’s stand out performers.

Competing in Telemark & Training for The World Cup

Following a run of impressive results and podium appearances in the French Cup Series, Taylor was invited to perform in the World Junior Championships as part of the British Telemark Ski Team. Now a firm fixture on the UK team, Jaz has the 2017 World Cup firmly in her sights.

Her best ever World Cup finish has been number two, but in 2017, Taylor is planning to go one better. Pre-season training has taken the young skier to Hinterlux in Austria and Tignes in France.  Whilst the conditions were idyllic in Austria, the French slope was under 1.5 metres of powder… great for a solid winter base, but not so much when you’re looking to train right away.

Of course, unpredictable conditions and -17 weather are all par for the course when you’re a professional skier. Currently, Jasmin is continuing to train hard in preparation for her next tilt at the World Cup.

Everyone at Kneissl is immensely proud to be able to do our bit to help her on the way… and we’re very much looking forward to her next competitive race.[:de]jaz-taylor
